Concept
I've been going through therapy, and one of the things he keeps telling me is to just let go and give myself over to whatever I am feeling at the moment. I spend a lot of time bottling up emotions and thinking it's 'bad' to feel that way, and I 'can't' feel this way. He said no matter what, no matter how tied down I am by all the bad things, it's still okay to feel what I feel.

Then he got me to start meditating. So I meditate and just.. the bad stuff is still there. It's still tying me down and it's still in my life, but for a little while I can just close my eyes and ignore it.

A friend also wanted to see me draw my character Drove, so I did.

Medium
This is my usual mixture of colored pencils and watercolors. Everything is watercolor except for her skin and the metal jewelry. Those are done in colored pencils. I also added tiny highlights of metallic paint to some of the metal work, it just adds a slight shimmer to the original.

Side Note
I want to draw more. That said, the character Drove was a blood elf on world of warcraft, but I didn't want to have a piece of art I couldn't sell. So I went with a blonde elf in general with the type of clothing I would like to see on the character. I will also be replacing this photograph with a nice one once I get it photographed on something other then my phone.

I have a pair of 200mb PNGs uploading to Sta.sh for you to download, my original scan which is way too bright, and a sort of mostly color-balanced one. It's a lot closer than this one, but the background is still too blue. I'll try it tomorrow with the camera and a gray card to see if I can get the color balance right.

and now you learn the struggles I go through with photographing my art lololol. I need to stop having blues in my work yet.. RIGHT NOW I AM DOING AN ALL BLUE PICTURE. Fun times.

Yes, I have Skype. I even use it every once in a while when I fire up my old netbook that has a mike. :)
